Tunica Mississippi

Tunica, Mississippi has been around longer than most of us reading this article.  At one time, Tunica County, Mississippi was considered the poorest County in the United States.  Thankfully, this this unfortunate distinction changed in the 1990’s.   Today, Tunica County, Mississippi is probably one of the richest, thanks to the nine very large casinos sprinkled through the cotton fields of Tunica.

In 2005, more than 10 million visitors made their way to Tunica, just 30 miles south of Memphis.   The Casino Capital of the South offers more than just gambling; there’s NASCAR, Golf, Boxing, and an endless list of musical talent and other celebrities entertaining the large crowds who gather in Tunica.

A new Tunica casino is opening very soon.  The Myriad Botanical Resort is not only a casino, but a Tunica destination in itself.  Among the many features of this 1.6 billion dollar project is an indoor 18-hole golf course.  The new casino is expected to be completed in 24 to 48 months.

Flying into Tunica is now easier too.  The Pan Am Clipper Connection makes two trips a day to Tunica from Atlanta and more trips are scheduled in the future thanks to the newly renovated Tunica Airport.

Whatever your pleasures, Tunica.com hopes you enjoy the Southern Hospitality and the many activities Tunica, Mississippi has to offer.
