The Best Tunica Annual Events in Town

Sure, you could travel to Tunica, Mississippi at any time. However, why not schedule a time for vacation that corresponds to one of the exciting annual events? There are festivals and yearly events happening all year round, from the holiday season to the summer months. Some of these events are free and bring you together with the people and the culture of Tunica.

Bear in mind that many of the top events in town, provided they are not on the actual streets of Tunica, are found inside the luxurious casinos. Some of the top locations for live events include the Tunica Casino, Bally’s Casino, Fitzgerald’s Casino, the Gold Strike Casino Resort, the Grand Casino Tunica and Harrah's. These establishments are not merely casinos but also hotels and accommodations with plenty of amenities and large venues for shows. You can expect to find live performances by Brett Butler, Tiffany, Rick Springfield, Jeff Dunham, LeeAnn Rimes and many other top industry names. Also keep an eye out for the Blues & Legends Hall of Fame and the Tunica Museum.

What about major yearly events in town? One of the most exciting yearly traditions is the Annual Tunica Christmas Parade. Visitors gather along Casino Center Drive East of Hwy 61 and welcome a variety of parade-worthy spectacles, like antique cars, bands, floats, and of course, Santa Claus. Many visitors simply bring out their lawn chairs and enjoy the show from a safe point on the roads and sidewalks. Awards are handed out at the end of the parade for creative designs and decorations.

The Rivergate Festival is a three-day arts and crafts show that takes place in April. The festival includes open house displays, live entertainment from celebrities, train rides, car shows, BBQ meals and various athletic events. Other annual events include the Fourth of July Children’s Parade, Christmas Open House and the Delta Day Festival which commemorates the history of the Delta. This festival includes a car show, tractor race, numerous children’s games and activities, arts, and a petting zoo. Naturally, all events have tasty food for visitors to enjoy.

There are also exciting Tunica annual events at the Battle Arena and numerous special exhibits to enjoy at Tunica Museum. This is a town that has been resurrected from a life of poverty to one of glitzy and glamorous success. It is a vacation destination that must be seen in person to be truly appreciated.
